Artists, sandy beaches, wilderness park, hiking trails, yoga, paddle boarding and kayaking Roberts Creek was first settled by the Coast Salish Nation which referred to Roberts Creek as Hwah-sam (big fat salmon).
The first European settler to the area was Thomas William Roberts and it was his entrepreneurial son Harry Roberts that originally termed the area The Sunshine Belt and later changed to the Sunshine Coast.
Located between Gibsons and extends to Wilson Creek. Downtown Roberts Creek is located where Lower Road, Roberts Creek, and
Beach Avenue intersect. Roberts Creek is known for its inspiring arts community including painters, musicians, jewelry makers, potters, wood workers and the famous community mandala located at Roberts Creek beach and pier.
